After-action reviews (AARs) are team conversations after an event or incident that help guide learning, best practices, and overall performance of the team. This presentation discusses some of the basics of conducting AARs. In this 10 minute video, Barron covers some of the basics of AARs that can be used in a variety of situations. AARs are viewed as conversations of positive and negative points that occurred during an event. AARs should focus on different stories about an event. The five steps of running an effective AAR are covered. Qualities of good AAR facilitators are also covered.
