This webinar was the third in a future forests webinar series addressing post-outbreak fire risk and behavior on October 18, 2011. The event was co-sponsored by the USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station and the Southern Rockies Fire Science Network. There's this need for us to start being able to address the complexity of the fuel bed and of the fire itself, and the processes that take place within a fire. So this webinar is really going to be about different aspects of how we're working towards advancing our capabilities to address that complexity, first in dealing with the fuels, and then getting a better representation of the fire processes with dynamic fire models and some of the things we've seen so far with the CFD model approach in pine beetle condition.
