The RISCOS - Portuguese Association of Risks, Prevention and Safety, in collaboration with the Centre of Studies in Geography and Spatial Planning (CEGOT) and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (FLUC), is organizing the V International Congress on Risks , under the theme "Contribution of the Science for Disaster Risk Management. Acting today, protecting tomorrow, " which will take place in the city of Coimbra (Center of Portugal) between 12 and 16 of October, 2020.

Forest fires are not only the most frequent manifestation of risk, but also the one that causes the most damage in Portugal. They are also a major problem in many other countries, from Southern Europe, Africa, North and South of America, Asia and Australia, so they will certainly be one of the most handled risks at this Congress.

Like the previous Congresses, the themes of the different panels are diversified, allowing to approach the generality of the risks and their manifestations, around the central theme "Contribution of the Science for Disaster Risk Management", an area that allows to cover the most varied areas of scientific knowledge, we invite you to participate in this Congress, to letting us know and discuss the research and studies that you have been or are carrying out about forest fires, presenting a communication or simply participating in the V International Congress on Risks.

The deadline for submitting abstracts will end on January 15, 2020. Registration deadline is June 30, 2020. Find more information at the conference website.
