Following the unprecedented 2019/20 bushfire season, the 2020 Bushfire Building Conference is shaping up to be a crucial event for researchers, planners and building industry professionals. The Australian Bushfire Building Conference is an annual event for industry professionals who have a focus on building in bushfire-prone areas. It brings together builders, architects, designers, landscapers, bushfire consultants, certifiers, planners, researchers, regulators and insurers with a range of sessions, workshops, field trips and social events to help Australia build a better, stronger and more resilient community. The event is presented by Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise (BMEE), a not-for-profit organization for economic development in the Blue Mountains.

The theme in 2020 is “Stronger & Smarter: Lessons Learnt“

This year the 6th annual Conference will be going ahead as a one-day virtual conference, with a live 1.5 day event in the Blue Mountains to be added if such events are allowed by September. Register now for the virtual conference on September 17, and express your interest in a live event should it go ahead. This will help greatly in planning for the 2020 event.

Details: The virtual Conference will be held on September 17, 2020. If a live event is possible it will be a 1.5 day event in the Blue Mountains on September 17/18, with an optional Field Trip and Workshops on September 16. Find more information here.
