Consistently successful decision making can make or break an individual or an organization. Perhaps counter intuitively, individuals who repeatedly make effective, successful decisions are not necessarily those who have the most information or spend the most time weighing the decision. Instead, they have perfected the art of “thin slicing,” by identifying in a fraction of time the key factors in a situation that are relevant. Gladwell takes an in-depth look at how the brain makes decisions and why certain people consistently make successful decisions. Individuals who make instantaneous decisions or who desire to make more effective decisions will appreciate this book.
