The Montana State Society of American Foresters annual meeting will explore challenges and issues of "Effective Forest Practices for Today's Resources Challenges".

  • April 9 - Tree Farm Inspector Training from 10 am -3 pm in Kalispell, MT and an evening executive meeting at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake.
  • April 10  - presentations around the meeting's theme -  Effective Forest Practices for Today's Resources Challenges
  • April 11 - field tour of the USFS Creston Seed Orchard and Smart Lam


The goal of this meeting is to share findings from the practices of the last 20 years. Topics will include: 

  • Road obliteration techniques
  • Timber sales effects on wildlife management
  • Future maximum stand density
