This subtopic contains an assortment of publications that assess data sets from sites or landscapes and can be used to develop portions of fire behavior models. They are not fire behavior models themselves but information found within them could be incorporated into developing fire modelling programs and improving the modeling predictions. The data fall into several categories including core fire research from the lab or from the field that describes physical characteristics of fire, weather or climate data as they can be related to fire behavior, mathematical correlations (regressions, linear correlations, etc.) that can be used to predict certain types of fire behavior, and correlations of field data with site or landscape factors.
