Conversations Through the Smoke: A Traveling Art Exhibition, New Meadows, Idaho

ConversationsThroughtheSmoke_0.jpg

The traveling art exhibition, Conversations Through the Smoke, aims to connect the creative voices of artists and fire practitioners from the Northern Rockies and beyond with those highly affected by recent fires. With extensive fires in Idaho and Montana in 2015 and 2017—and more to come— all of us must find ways to adapt to more large fires and smoke forecast for the future. This traveling show will be displayed alongside works made by artists in the New Meadows, Idaho area.

To further the impact, this exhibition will be accompanied by discussions about fire science and management through panel discussions of practitioners and community stakeholders, lectures, and community art-making.

With Conversations Through the Smoke, NRFSN and other exhibit organizers seek to foster conversations that will help all of us adapt to our future living with fire and smoke.

The exhibit will be at the Historic Pacific and Idaho Northern Railway Depot on September 1, 2018, during Meadows Valley Days.
