Helena Era of Megafires: Continuing the conversation

MegafiresPosterGraphicSmallForWeb_0.PNGThis event is meant to encourage ongoing discussion of local issues related to the Helena Era of Megafires presentation on September 12, 2017. Join us for an evening of educational and eye-opening discussions by professionals who have studied the local fire hazards and are involved in the solutions.

Jessica Haas, an ecologist with the Rocky Mountain Research Station, will kick off the event by discussing local fuel hazard issues, what management actions have been taken, and what additional mitigation actions can be implemented to further reduce fuel hazard in the face of worsening fire conditions.

Sponsors for this event include Tri-County FireSafe Working Group, FireSafe Montana and the Northern Rockies Fire Science Network.

The presentation will take place at the Montana Association of Counties (MACO) Building in Helena. Doors will open at 6:00PM, and the presentation will begin at 7:00PM. The event is free, but seating is limited.
